FAQ

Is my session private? Do you share my images?

Your session is 100% private. I am the only person present during your shoot.

Images are never shared without your permission. Before the start of your session, you’ll be asked to sign a model release and indicate what images (if any!) you would like to share. Every image you see here or on the VS Photography social media pages has been approved by the client in the photo.

I don’t look like the women featured on your website; can I still book a session?

Of course! Every woman (no matter what size, shape, or age) is beautiful. I pay attention to each of my client’s wants and needs. It’s my job to create images that flatter the unique person that you are by showing off your best features and personality. Everyone that books with VS Photography will receive a one-of-a-kind experience and gorgeous images to match!

I’ve never modeled or posed for a professional photo shoot before, should I be worried?

There’s no need to worry! Most people are not models. Most people have also never posed for a boudoir shoot. I’m here to guide you through every step of the process and show you exactly how to work it and pose for every shot. My aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible and to have you walk away from this unique experience proud, beautiful, and empowered!

Do you retouch your photographs?

Every photograph in your final product purchase comes fully retouched. These enhancements include the removal of blemishes, scars, and other skin conditions. I do not alter photographs through extensive “body reshaping.” Instead, I focus on flattering poses, lighting, and image composition to bring you a beautiful photograph!

Do I need to bring my own clothes, or do you provide the wardrobe?

You need to provide your own clothes and lingerie for the shoot. But, fear not! If you need help with outfit ideas, we can discuss wardrobe during the pre-session consultation. I also send you a questionnaire before your session so that I can gain some insight into your vision and unique style. Moreover, you can get some inspiration from the VS Photography Galleries and Pinterest page!

I recommend bringing 3-5 outfit changes that reflect your personality and body shape. There are some accessory options in the studio (including jewelry, cover-ups, and other fabrics) in case you would like to enhance your look.

Is hair and makeup provided?

I include professional makeup services in my boudoir photography package, as well as a professional hair styling as an add-on option. I have hand-picked these artists for their talents and creativity. My goal is that you feel pampered and glamourous during your shoot, and that your hair and makeup compliment your photographs.

While I believe hair and makeup can beautifully enhance your shoot and images, you can choose to forgo these services by letting me know when you book your session.

Can I bring someone to my session?

Normally I prefer to work one on one with my clients during their shoot. A crowd in the room can lead to nervousness and make you feel self-conscious. If however you must bring someone with you for moral support, I ask that you bring just one friend along. There are private rooms where additional people can relax and wait during your session.

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

I have a 7-day cancellation policy. A lot goes into reserving your session date, so cancellations made with less than a week’s notice will result in the loss of your deposit fee. If you need to reschedule a booked appointment, please do so within 48 hours of your shoot date.

What is your refund policy?

Due to the custom nature of photography, your session fee and purchased products are non-refundable. However, I work hard to ensure that you’re happy with your experience and resulting photographs! You will also have the opportunity to provide input about products during your purchasing session.

I’m ready to book a boudoir session; what’s next?

Please visit the Contact Page and get in touch! Once you’re ready to reserve a date for your shoot, you will receive a booking proposal and contract via email. You must sign the contract and provide a non-refundable deposit in order to reserve your date and time. This deposit will count towards your total session fee. The remaining balance is due before or on the day of your shoot. Cash, checks, and most major credit cards are accepted.
