Why is boudoir photography empowering for women? It’s a medium that confronts the issue of body image in relation to beauty head on.
A healthy relationship with our bodies comes from accepting and loving all of our imperfections. As a boudoir photographer, I aim to conquer insecurity and self-esteem issues through art. That’s precisely why boudoir photography has the power to uplift. It’s more than a photo-shoot, it’s an experience.
Empowering Boston Boudoir Photography Session with Miss S
When I met Sarah Gaines (Boston fitness superstar, founder of Fit University, and co-founder of The Y Society), I was immediately inspired by her accomplishments in the Boston community and her story. If you haven’t read about her recent experience with confronting body-image head on in the public eye, check it out here!
Sarah and I teamed up to do a boudoir photography session for the purpose of spreading the message of empowerment and body-confidence. We shot a beautiful session and speaking more with Sarah really reminded me why I love being a boudoir photographer.
The most rewarding part of being a boudoir photographer is the opportunity to encourage women to feel confident, sexy, and comfortable in their own skin. Whether the women who walk through my doors are shy, nervous, or believe they’re not ready or in the ideal shape to pull off a boudoir photography shoot, I’m there to reassure them that the present moment is the perfect time to embrace their beauty in a bold way.
